prevent metastasis

reverse drug resistance
Cancer Stem Cells (CSC) cause recurrence, metastasis, and drug resistance in cancer patients. A common approach is to inhibit CSC signaling pathways, thereby indirectly addressing the issues arising from CSC.*
*e.g., STAT3, Notch, WnT, Hedgehog, etc.
At CKP, we directly target CSC at the source and holistically achieve three goals:
We accomplish this direct therapeutic result by developing a SERCA* inhibitor, which blocks cancer stem cells from regulating calcium levels, to achieve apoptosis of even the most malignant cancer cells like CSCs.
our approach
*SERCA (Sarcoplasmic/Endoplasmic Reticulum Calcium ATPase) is a special protein secreted by CSCs to control the amount of calcium and avoid apoptosis.
Cancer Stem Cells (CSC) are a key cause of recurrence and metastasis, and cancer-patient death.
Drug resistance and general survival of CSC are tied to SERCA, which controls CA2+ levels and prevents cell death.
Conventional therapeutics typically kill cancer cells, but failure to target CSC can lead to cancer recurrence and metastasis with drug resistance.
